Minisymposium 2: Numerical optimal control: Methods I
Time: 11:00 - 13:00
Room: L1, Building L
Organiser: Kathrin Flaßkamp, Universität Bremen, Kurt Chudej, Universität Bayreuth, and Matthias Gerdts, Universität der Bundeswehr, München
Chair: Kathrin Flaßkamp, Universität Bremen, Kurt Chudej, Universität Bayreuth
Most optimal control problems that arise e.g. in engineering or biomedical applications have to be addressed by numerical methods. The minisymposium brings together several presentations from numerical optimal control. This includes newly developed numerical methods and their analyses as well as applications of optimization-based control. Optimal control problems of ordinary and partial differential equations as well as of coupled systems are considered.
Speakers:
11:00 - 11:30 | Sven-Joachim Kimmerle (Universität der Bundeswehr) Optimal control of a coupled system of hyperbolic and ordinary differential equations: FDTO and FOTD approaches and structure-exploiting SQP algorithms |
11:30 - 12:00 | Christopher Schneider (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena) Group sparsity in optimal control |
12:00 - 12:30 | Kathrin Flaßkamp (Universität Bremen) Structure-preserving discretization in optimal control |
12:30 - 13:00 | Kurt Chudej (Universität Bayreuth) Optimal vaccination strategies against Dengue fever |
