Evolution equations on symmetric spaces

Jean-Philippe Anker
Université d'Orléans, France

Lecture course within the Master programme
"Harmonic analysis and representation theory"

Description:

In these lecture series, we will show how (spherical) harmonic analysis can be applied in order to solve invariant differential equations on symmetric spaces. More precisely, we will consider and study evolution equations, such as the heat equation, the wave equation or the Schrödinger equation, on noncompact Riemannian symmetric spaces, in particular on Euclidean and hyperbolic spaces.

Although we will try to be as self-contained as possible, some knowledge about Lie groups and homogeneous spaces will be welcome.

Period: June 19-28.
The lecture series starts with a talk in our Math Colloquium on June 19, 16:45.

Schedule (c.f. PAUL):
Mo,   June 19, 16:45 - 18:00,  D2 (Math Colloquium)
Tue,  June 20, 16:15 - 17:45,  J3.213

Tue,  June 27, 16:15 - 17:45,  A5
Wed, June 28, 16:15 - 17:45,  A3.339

ECTS: 3
