The conference takes place in the conference room O2 in the O building on the main campus of Paderborn University.

The registration and coffee breaks will take place in room O1.258 next to the conference room. Additionally, the room O1.252 in the same hallway will be available for discussions.

The conference room has two large moveable blackboards and one large projection screen. It is also possible to use the projection screen and two moveable blackboards.

Meals

Besides the conference dinner, no lunch or dinner meals are included in the conference. A “canonical” option for lunch is the university restaurant (Mensa, denoted by ME on the campus map) is located near the main university entrance. It offers a varied selection of meals, including vegetarian and vegan options. You can use a credit card as a payment method. The opening hours are 11:15 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 11:15 .a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday.
There is also a small café in the same building with coffee, drinks, baked rolls, and some other snacks.
As an alternative, the shopping mall "Südring Center" (5-10 minutes walk) offers various snack and fast food options.

We provide two networks for WIFI access: Eduroam and Webauth.

Childcare will be available for participants with children. Please inform us in advance if you wish to make use of this service.  

How to re­ach the Uni­ver­si­ty Cam­pus

It is possible to reach the university campus from the city center by foot in roughly 30 minutes, or alternatively by bus in about 15 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online via the PaderSprinter website (credit card payment), through their app (credit card payment), directly on the bus (only cash), or at many bus stations, including Hauptbahnhof = main station (both cash and credit card payment). Online options feature a 20% discount on single one-way tickets. We recommend to buy either "4er Tickets" (4 rides),  or a "7 Tage Ticket" (7 days).


Another possibility is to use the "Deutsche Bahn" app on smartphones to book such tickets or even to look for bus connections.

Bus-Net­work Plan

There are three lines going to the university campus from Paderborn train station (Hauptbahnhof) through the city center:

  • line 1 (direction "Kaukenberg"),
  • line 4 (direction "Dahl"),
  • line 6 (direction "Schöne Aussicht"),
  • line 14 (direction “Auf der Lieth”),
  • line 100 (direction "Universität").

Timetables: Line 1, Line 4, Line 6, Line 14, Line 100.

1. Bus stop "Uni-Südring" can be reached from downtown (stops: Hauptbahnhof, Rosentor, Westerntor, Rathausplatz, Kamp) by lines 1, 4 and 100. They are running every 15-30 minutes, and the ride from the center to the campus takes about 15 minutes.

2. Bus stop “Schöne Aussicht” can be reached from downtown (stops: Hauptbahnhof, Neuhäuser Tor, Detmolder Tor, Kasseler Straße) by lines 6, 14, and line 100. They operate every 15-30 minutes.

How to re­ach Pa­der­born

For travel information on how to reach Paderborn, we recommend the following website of the university: traveling information.

  • Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS) is a major airport in the region. Railway travel between Paderborn main railway station (Hbf) and the  airport railway station takes about 2 hours.
     
  • Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). Travelling by train from Frankfurt to Paderborn takes about 3 hours.
     
  • Paderborn-Lippstadt is a small regional airport which is only 20 kilometers away from the city. The city buses 400 and 460 (BusBahn Hochstift) connect the airport to the railway station Paderborn Hbf.

ICE, IC and regional trains (RE and Eurobahn) arrive at Paderborn main railway station.

Paderborn is connected by Autobahn A33 which connects to Autobahn A2 and A44.
