 |  M-Nachrichten

The teaching innovation FourMath implements recommendations from the SWK by developing a program specifically aimed at supporting students who have failed module exams during the introductory phase of their studies. The goal of the program is to reduce changes of study program or dropout rates. Initially, the program is designed for prospective primary school teachers in the area of basic mathematics education. The core components of the support program are: a) diagnosis and promotion of subject-specific competencies and learning strategies, b) reflection on one's own learning history, learning strategies, and attitudes toward the subject, c) social and academic integration in small groups, and d) mentoring by peers who act as role models and co-creators of the innovation.
