 |  EIM-Nachrichten

The math circle of the University of Paderborn will enter its next round in the winter semester of 2024/25. On three Saturday mornings, interested high school students will get to know exciting mathematics beyond the school curriculum. The only prerequisite for participation is an intermediate level of knowledge in mathematics. Dr. Kerstin Hesse, head of the Paderborn Math Circle, describes the program: “The math circle is primarily aimed at high school students, but we are also happy to welcome middle school participants. Our goal is to convey the beauty and elegance of mathematics to anyone who is interested.” The math circle will take place online on Saturdays, November 9, 2024, November 30, 2024, and January 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. “Square roots of 2 are irrational”, ‘Regular stars and polygons’ and ‘Interpolation with polynomials’ are the titles of the exciting online workshops. Further information on free participation and the registration form can be found at go.upb.de/mathezirkel.
