10 September 2025 saw the launch of the new Maths Adventure project, which is led by Simone Jablonski, Junior Professor of Mathematics Education. The project is supported by the Paderborn Community Foundation, on whose behalf Dr. Rasmus Jakobsmeyer attended the kick-off event.
The first session of Maths Adventure brought together 16 mathematically interested and talented primary school children from the Paderborn area to work together on mathematical problems outside of regular lessons. In addition to getting to know each other, the focus was on the first interactive activities: the children were able to familiarise themselves with the various subject areas of the project by solving puzzles at five stations. The aim of Maths Adventure is to promote the joy of creative thinking and problem solving and to keep the children's enthusiasm for maths alive. The project will also be integrated into the teacher training programme and thus contribute to the integration of theoretical and practical elements in the degree course.
We look forward to the upcoming sessions with the children and many more maths adventures together!
