How can vehicles be built in a way that conserves resources? What role does efficiency play in energy generation?

These and many other exciting questions were addressed by 5 students of grade 9 of the Pelizaeus-Gymnasium during a two-week interdisciplinary internship on the topic of "resource-efficient mobility".

In various project groups of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, they learned about the background and basics of efficient and climate-friendly mobility and recorded their findings on a poster. After a theoretical introduction, they were also allowed to look behind the scenes and become active in the laboratories themselves: Programming, soldering, welding or even the production of recycled granulate - a unique opportunity to discover the diverse worlds of mechanical and electrical engineering before going to university.

The program was conducted for the first time in January 2022 with students from Gymnasium Schloß Neuhaus.

Numerous positive feedbacks encourage us to establish the newly developed project and to give more students the opportunity to learn about forward-looking technologies in the field of climate protection from experts and, at the same time, to gain insights into the varied professional fields.

For schools:

Would you also like to offer your students a unique internship? Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katrin Temmen (Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology) and Ms. Eisernitz (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) will be happy to provide you with further information.
