The lecture will be given by Prof. Ingrid Daubechies. Prof. Daubechies is the James B. Duke Professor at Duke University and was previously a professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics at Princeton University. Her fundamental contributions to the theory and application of wavelet methods are of vital importance in many areas of applied mathematics, extending to concrete technical implementations.
