Setting up Kerberos

Some services are based on Kerberos (such as AFS). For this reason, Kerberos must first be set up.

Quick reference:

Download new package

Realm: MATH.PADERBORN UNIVERSITY.DE

Kerberos server: Does not need to be specified

Step by step instructions:

There are different implementations of Kerberos. We recommend the MIT Kerberos distribution.

  1. Please download the latest installation package and start it.
  2. Depending on your requirements, select the desired components. Only the KfW client is required.
  3. The installation path can remain the default path.
  4. You do not need to change the configuration file at this point. Any ticket can be retrieved regardless of the default realm.
  5. If desired, you can start the programme when Windows starts.

After a short installation phase, the user can start the programme, retrieve a ticket and display it.
