There are a lot of reasons why you should visit the Learning Center – even during the pandemic:

  • a digital place for studying and working together and to discuss mathematics

  • weekly held, course specific office hours given by student assistants (the dates are announced during the lectures and can also be found under Opening Hours)

  • specific office hours at the end of the semester to prepare for the exams

  • a place to meet other students, who attend the same math lectures

To summarize, the Lernzentrum is a well-established place for math students to visit and offers a great atmosphere to work together.

Student services offered by the university

General student services

There are several counseling centers at the university that can support you in your daily life and help you with all questions and problems related to your studies. Whether you are overwhelmed, worried about exams, have doubts about your studies, studying with a child, or coping with illness - the following contact points will be happy to advise you on these things!

You are a female student of the faculty EIM? You are interested in scientific work? You are thinking about doing a doctorate? Then our faculty's mentoring program perspEktIveM is just right for you. Accompanied by mentors, who are scientific staff members of the faculty, you will get an insight into the daily routine of research for one semester. Moreover, you can ask your questions and exchange ideas with other students interested in getting a PhD. Detailed information can be found here.

To promote women in STEM fields, Paderborn University also offers the mentoring program look upb for female pupils, where female students enrolled in a STEM subject take over the mentoring. If you would like to become a mentor yourself, you can find more information here.
