Information for guests

How do I get a login?

Creation of a university account for guests / information for supervisors of guests: IMT Guest Administration

If you want to use your own laptop and WLAN, an IMT account is sufficient.

If you want to use the computers in the Institute of Mathematics, you need an additional math account. Then please contact your supervisor to forward your period and IMT login to pem@math.uni-paderborn.de.

Can I access the Wlan with my laptop?

There are 2 possibilities to connect to the WLAN of the university:

Use of eduroam/DFNRoaming . This is only possible if a certificate of your home institution is installed on your laptop.

You can log in to the WLAN with webauth, for this you need

    an IMT guest account

alternatively: a temporary IMT account (for e.g. conference topics)

For more information about guest network access see IMT network access
Cable network on laptop?

If they have access to a cable (for example in one of our offices), the Mac address of the laptop must be unlocked. This task is done by the computer support in D2.301. After that the laptop can be used in the cable network of mathematics.

VPN - but how?

The IMT offers a VPN service which can be used if e.g. the webauth (unencrypted) is used. Detailed instructions can be found on the IMT help pages.
