Remote login on the workstation

How you can log on to your workstation computer depends on the one hand on the operating system of your workstation computer, but on the other hand also on the operating system of the computer from which you want to log on.

If you use Linux:

Laptop with network cable in the institute
  • You can log on to the workstation via ssh or putty.
  • Via x2go you can log on to kepler and access your workstation from there using ssh, xfreerdp or rdesktop.

     

PC at the institute No restriction

Via x2go you can log on to kepler and access your workstation from there using ssh, xfreerdp or rdesktop.

 

  If you use Windows:

Laptop with network cable in the institute Via Remote Desktop you have direct access to your workstation.
otherwise
  • Via x2go you can log on to kepler and access your workstation from there using ssh, xfreerdp or rdesktop.
  • Via SSH tunnel  over kepler or via OpenVPN  you can access your workstation directly using Remote Desktop.

 If you use OS X:
