research
At our Institute of Mathematics, our research ranges from excellent basic research to interdisciplinary collaboration. In the CRC TRR 358 'Integer Structures in Geometry and Representation Theory', mathematicians from the fields of analysis and algebra conduct research across traditional disciplinary boundaries. In addition, we concentrate on areas such as stochastics, applied mathematics and close co-operation with industrial partners. There is also a strong emphasis on research in the field of mathematics education, which is well integrated into the Institute through joint research projects between mathematics education specialists and mathematicians.
