Hello dear prospective students,

Here you will find some information about the P2 bridge course, which is designed to prepare you for a degree programme in the following subjects:

• Mathematics
• Technomathematics
• Teaching degree with mathematics as a subject area
• Computer science

The bridge course takes place from 07.09. - 02.10.2026 (before the start of the orientation week organised by the student councils).

Based on many years of experience, participation in the bridge course is strongly recommended for every first-year student of the above-mentioned degree programmes!

You can register for the bridge course here from 01.01.2026. If you register before this date, you will be registered for the previous bridge course.

The lectures take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 1pm. Exercises take place in the afternoon on these days from 2pm to 4pm. Tuesday, Thursday and part of the weekend are then reserved for working on the exercises at home.

What is covered in the P2 bridge course?

The P2 bridge course offers an introduction to university mathematics. Some new topics will be covered, and topics that you are already familiar with from school will be looked at from a new perspective. The aim is not to apply mathematical statements and calculate something, but to understand why mathematical statements are valid and how to prove them. This also involves learning correct mathematical notation and familiarising ourselves with various proof techniques. This bridge course is not a simple repetition of school maths!
