Am 18. und 19. November findet an der Universität Paderborn das 39. Kolloquium über Kombinatorik (KolKom 2022) statt. Zu der von Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Schmidt (Institut für Mathematik) und Prof. Dr. Eckhard Steffen (Institut für Mathematik und PACE) organisierten Tagung werden fast 100 internationale Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer erwartet.
Hauptvortragende sind Maria Chudnovsky (Princeton University, USA), Stefan Glock (Universität Passau), William Martin (Worcester Polytechnic Institute, USA), Patrice Ossona de Mendez (CNRS Paris, France) und Christian Stump (Ruhr-Universität Bochum). Außerdem wird es noch über 70 weitere Vorträge geben. Das Kolloquium über Kombinatorik, das zum fünften Mal in Folge und zum ersten Mal nach Coronazeiten an der Universität Paderborn stattfindet, hat sich zu einer international sichtbaren und etablierten Tagung entwickelt, die inhaltlich das Gebiet der Kombinatorik umfassend von der Algebra bis hin zur theoretischen Informatik abdeckt.

Mathematics in Paderborn

Research
At the Institute of Mathematics, our research spans from fundamental mathematical studies to interdisciplinary collaboration. In the CRC TRR 358 project, Integral Structures in Geometry and Representation Theory, mathematicians from analysis and algebra work across traditional disciplinary boundaries. Additionally, our research focuses on stochastics, applied mathematics, and close partnerships with industry. We also place strong emphasis on mathematics education, integrating it into the Institute through collaborative research projects between mathematics education specialists and mathematicians.
