On Monday, January 20, 2025, Junior Professor Dr. Johanna Schönherr (Didactics of Mathematics) and Professor Dr. Balázs Kovács (Numerics of Partial Differential Equations) gave their inaugural lectures in lecture hall O2. The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Klüners, welcomed both lecturers and the audience at the beginning of the event.
On January 31th, the Colloquium of the CRC-TRR 358 will take place at the Department of Mathematics, Paderborn. The speakers are Prof. Thomas Schick (Göttingen) and Prof. Tobias Hartnick (KIT Karlsruhe).

Topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and data science are also becoming increasingly relevant at school. Thanks to a cooperation with Paderborn University, pupils at Gymnasium Theodorianum can regularly deepen their knowledge in this area.
Prof. Dr Alessio Figalli, who has received several awards, gave a lecture on Friday, 26 April on the topic of "Beyond Boundaries: Recent Advances in the Obstacle Problem".
The Weierstraß lecture 2024 will take place on April 26 at 16:00 in lecture hall O1 at Paderborn University. We are looking forward to a lecture titled "Beyond Boundaries: Recent Advances in the Obstacle Problem" by the Fields Medalist Prof. Dr. Alessio Figalli (ETH Zürich). The Fields Medal is regarded as the "Nobel-Prize of Mathematics".
